EC05, Dallas, TX – January 21, 2005 – Conwed® announced it would exhibit OxyGrid™, the next degradable netting solution in the EcoSeries™ line. OxyGrid is the environmental solution designed for products that require degradation capabilities in areas that are shaded from ultra violet (UV) rays, such as products used beneath the soil or under vegetation.
Last year Conwed introduced BioGrid™, the first fully biodegradable oriented netting in the world. “BioGrid was a 2004 success for Conwed but we didn’t want to stop there. We’re committed to developing new, cutting-edge products for the erosion control industry and OxyGrid is another Conwed innovation,” explained Keith Misukanis, Strategic Business Manager.
OxyGrid is designed with technological enhanced polymers that oxidize and degrade through heat and moisture. When used in the ground as an erosion control application it immediately begins to breakdown. OxyGrid degradation dramatically accelerates when in contact with UV rays.
