MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. (October 10, 2005)—Conwed, a leading provider of high-performance oriented square and diamond netting, today announced the acquisition of Netlon from Tensar International, headquartered in Blackburn, UK. Netlon manufactures products for filtration, industrial parts protection, agricultural, and ground stabilization. Conwed will begin servicing Netlon’s customers immediately. The terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.

Earlier this year Conwed acquired NSW, LLC in the U.S which advanced their diamond mesh technology. With the acquisition of Netlon, their diamond mesh capacity has greatly increased worldwide.
In addition to a more robust diamond mesh portfolio, Conwed also is acquiring Netlon Turf Systems from Tensar. “Conwed is an expert in landscape solutions from turf reinforcement to erosion control,” Brouwers said. “We are excited to grow our landscape business with the addition of Netlon Turf Systems.”
Netlon Turf Systems are a series of products designed to improve ground stabilization and protect green areas that are subject to high traffic and intense use such as car parks, sport arenas, and even helicopter landing pads.
Together with Netlon, the company will now have combined revenue of more than $100 million and extensive manufacturing capabilities that will increase Conwed’s reach into additional markets.
Conwed will continue to pursue business growth through acquisitions. Specifically, Conwed is pursuing companies for acquisition that produce extruded or oriented plastic products or specialize in markets, technologies or services that have a strategic fit with the company.
